Gender & Equal Pay
Kell A. Simon

Q.

I work for a hospital and recently found out that several men with comparable or less experience and education are making more than me. Several other female employees are also in the same situation and may be interested in pursuing this.

Pay discrimination is illegal. The recent Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act has made it less challenging in certain circumstances to bring a claim for equal-pay. If you feel that the pay discrepancy you've described is due to gender discrimination, consult with an attorney to find out what options you may have to seek compensation.
